Because silicon and oxygen are easy to combine into silicon dioxide, so iron silicon is often used as a deoxidizer in steelmaking.

Ferro silicon produced by the Beifang Alloy Factory is an alloy consisting of silicon and iron in specific proportions, primarily used in steel and magnesium smelting.

  • Appearance: Ferro silicon has a metallic, bread-like color, and is free from powder and slag.
  • Chemical Composition: Besides silicon (Si) and iron (Fe), ferro silicon contains elements such as manganese (Mn), chromium (Cr), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S), and carbon (C).
  • Melting Point: The melting point of ferro silicon varies with its grade: For 72#-80# ferro silicon: 1290°C-1360°C , For 75# ferro silicon: 1300°C
  • Density: The density of ferro silicon is influenced by its silicon content, decreasing as silicon content increases. The density of 75# ferro silicon is 3270 kg/m³.

How to make ferro silicon and What is the raw material for ferro silicon?
